Once a popular shore access site, End of the Road at Whiskey Point on Quadra Island like many area dives is best done by boat with live operator available to pick up the divers. Due to the strong currents, life is abundant and the dive needs to be done during a slack in the currents. The rocks are blanketed in Strawberry anemones and large masses of Yellow sponge where you will often find Puget Sound King Crabs and Red Irish Lords. The King crabs sometimes molt their shells and can be a prized souvenir if in good shape. Take note of the Giant Barnacles that reach their feathery arm out to grab plankton as the current brings food to them. You might be lucky and come across a Hairy Lithodid crab making its way around and over the large rocky bottom.
